This policy describes information collected through the Better Ohio PAC website and text-update signup program.
Information we collect
When you contact us, we collect your name, email address, message, and submission time. When you request text updates, we collect your name, mobile number, the consent language you accepted, the time of consent, and the signup page address. Our hosting provider may process technical information such as IP addresses and request logs for delivery, security, and abuse prevention.
How we use information
We use contact information to review and respond to inquiries, administer the text program, document consent and opt-outs, protect our services, and meet applicable obligations. Text messages may include political and issue updates, surveys, event notices, and donation requests. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
Mobile information and consent
We do not sell, rent, or share mobile numbers or SMS opt-in data and consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. This information may be disclosed only to service providers as necessary to operate and support our messaging program, or as required by law. These service providers may use the information only to provide services on our behalf.
Service providers and disclosures
We use hosting and communications service providers to operate our services. We may disclose information when legally required or necessary to address fraud, security threats, or misuse. The restrictions above apply to SMS opt-in information.
Your choices
Text signup requires your affirmative consent. Submitting a contact message does not enroll you. Reply STOP to an SMS message to opt out; a final confirmation may be sent. Reply HELP for assistance. You can also use our contact form to request assistance, withdraw consent, or ask to access, correct, or delete information. We may retain records needed to honor opt-outs and meet legal obligations.
Security and retention
We limit access to submitted information and use HTTPS in transit. No system is completely secure. We keep information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including consent records and suppression records needed to avoid further messages.
Cookies and external sites
This website does not install advertising pixels or analytics scripts. Hosting infrastructure may use technical mechanisms needed for security and service operation. Links to Facebook, research websites, or other services lead to sites governed by their own privacy policies.
Children
Our contact and text-update services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has submitted personal information.
